Banking & Finance
We created this group to support research and postgraduate programmes in Finance. We’re growing quickly, and our academics now cover a wide range of areas in banking, finance, economics and econometrics.
Our projects have looked at:
- banking efficiency
- timely detection of financial crises
- forecasting financial and economic variables after the great financial crisis
- the effects of unconventional monetary policies on the financial system and macroeconomy
- the statistical underpinnings of portfolio management in the presence of large datasets
We also have broader interests, and some of our current work evaluates how we can use Big Data to aid financial and economic analysis.
