Welcome week and inductions
The Welcome App is your pocket guide to your first few weeks at King’s, and will contain essential details about your enrolment tasks, how to collect your student card, the time and place of your induction sessions and social events. There is also a browser version of the app available, so it will be compatible with all your devices.
You have three compulsory inductions to attend in your first week:
- King’s Business School Faculty induction
- Programme Induction
- Careers Service Induction
- Welcome reception – not compulsory but a great way to meet people on your programme.
If you can’t attend, don’t worry, the sessions will be recorded and made available to you afterwards, but please make every effort to attend.
Make sure you view every day of activity in the Business School calendar which is located under your level of study (undergraduate/postgraduate) and register for the events above (they will have your degree programme title listed in the description). You should check the app for the most up to date information. If times or locations change, they will be reflected in the app.
In addition to events in King’s Business School, the Welcome App contains information about general events taking place on campus during Welcome Week. Our advice is to go through the app in detail and select the events that appeal to you in order to make the most out of Welcome Week.
We recommend you build your own schedule for easy navigation of the events you have registered for.

We have a whole host of tools for students to develop themselves during their time at King’s. The first thing you should do is to create an account on King’s Career Connect, where you will be able to view events with potential employers and book a one-to-one appointment with one of our career coaches.
Our dedicated team of careers consultants at the School will be able to guide you and help make sure you’re making the most of your time at King’s. They can offer you careers advice, CV and cover letter reviews, mock interviews and guidance on specific job applications.
Even if you’re unsure of your potential career path, we strongly encourage all students to visit our careers service throughout their time at King’s. We have many professional development resources available for students, and we want to help you to access the career you want after you graduate.
Additional credit modules
Alongside your required modules, first year students are eligible to select one additional credit module worth 15 credits. Please note that taking an additional credit module is not mandatory and does not affect progression each year, but the grades will be included in the final calculation score for the degree classification and appear on your transcript.
Students who opt to take an additional credit module from King’s Business School will be permitted to drop the module up until the end of the second week of teaching).
You will be able to select an additional credit module during Welcome Week. You are encouraged to make selections only after your programme induction and after careful consideration.
