The Academic Regulations are made by Academic Board under delegated authority from the Council and govern the conduct of academic activity and student discipline.
Academic Regulations and programme specifications in force when a student registers will normally apply to that student until completion of the programme. New or amended regulations, which are approved by Academic Board during an academic year, will come into force and apply to new students the following September. If regulations are revised for the academic year in progress, they will be advertised here.
A College Officer may delegate their powers under these regulations to another College Officer, either generally or in respect of a particular matter, providing always that any person to whom these powers may be delegated will be in a position to act and be seen to act impartially.
Please note that due to the Covid-19 Coronavirus outbreak, some academic regulations/policies have been adjusted to support students with their studies. For full details about these changes, please click here.
Complaints during the Covid-19 pandemic
Regulation 31.30 states that the College will normally communicate a stage two complaint decision to a student within 25 working days of receipt. In light of the current Covid-19 situation, it is likely that the timescale for our response will need to be extended to 40 working days. We will notify and update students on the timescales we are working to.
