Student Fellowships

Fellowships for Students

The KURF scheme is now closed.. Please read the prospectus to see projects that are running this year. Students will recieve a decision by the end of May.

King's Undergraduate Research Fellowships gives undergraduate students the unique opportunity to learn alongside our leading academics.

Previous Fellowship holders have published peer-reviewed academic journal articles and conducted major laboratory research, to give some examples.

An Undergraduate Research Fellowship project will give students the experience and exposure to help them in their next steps, whether it is in pursuing further study, or in demonstrating their leadership and drive to future employers.

The KURF scheme is now closed. Please read the prospectus to see the available projects to apply to. You must apply via KCC.

What can students do?

Students can be involved in research in a variety of ways:
  • library or archive research
  • laboratory projects
  • undertaking qualitative research
  • undertaking interviews

Please see the 2019 brochure for a full list of opportunities. Undergraduate Research Fellowships are offered in all of the Faculties at King's.

The scheme has grown and we are pleased to offer over 160 fellowship this year. Each student received a bursary.

King's Experience Research Award

After the 2019 Research Fellowships are completed, participating students will submit an assessment for the King’s Experience Research Award, enabling formal recognition of the achievement. The most recent Research Awards Ceremony was held in December 2018, with prizes awarded to the most successful projects.

Successful attainment of the King’s Experience Research Award will feature on students’ Higher Education Achievement Records.
