Information for Funding Recipients

If you have received funding from King's Careers & Employability for your internship, then you are required as a condition of receiving the money, to report back on how the funding contributed towards your internship experience.

So if you have received funding via one of the following ...

  • The Broadening Horizons Award
  • King's Internships Fund
  • Santander Universities (your host received funding enabling them to pay you a good salary for your internship)
  • Student Opportunity Fund

... we would like you to do report back to us by applying to at least TWO King's Internships Competitions, of your choice. Your submissions will be considered by our Competition Judges against all other entries, meaning even more cash could be coming your way!

For your Reflections Competition submission, please aim to include how the funding you received has contributed towards your internship experience.

Please enter into EITHER

1. Reflections Competition - Written Submission

OR

2. Reflections Competition - Video Submission

AND

3. Photo Competition

OR

4. 10 Second Competition

You need to apply to at least TWO of the Competitions so these are the possible combinations you could choose from:

  • Reflections Competition - Written Submission + Photo Competition
  • Reflections Competition - Written Submission + 10 Second Competition
  • Reflections Competition - Video Submission + Photo Competition
  • Reflections Competition - Video Submission + 10 Second Competition

You are also welcome to nominate your internship host organisation for the King's Internships Host Organisation of the Year Award.

Video Submission Hints

Give us a direct insight into a day in the life of an intern through the lens of a camera.

You don’t have to be any great shakes with video editing software – a simple recording from your phone is just fine. If you want to show off your creativity however, we certainly will not object!

As a minimum, all vlogs should feature you talking into the camera about your experience. Vlogs should be between 1 and 3 minutes long and address the essential points to include listed above, but exactly how you want to present the vlog is up to you. You might also like to consider the following…

  • Where are you going to film? Can you film in your place of work?
  • Will anyone else feature in your video? What about coworkers at your internship? Could you structure your video as a conversation with someone else?
  • Will you record the video all at once, or will you record thoughts at multiple stages of the internship?

When you are ready to apply, please upload your video to YouTube and copy and paste the YouTube link into the application form here.

3. King's Internships Photo Competition
  • Winner gets £50

Upload your favourite picture from your internship - it's that simple! Please only upload one photo. Apply here.

Giulia - Paragilding

4. King's Internships 10 Second Competition
  • Winner gets £50

Simply video yourself answering this question in 10 seconds: What was the best thing about your internship?

When you are ready to apply, please upload your video to YouTube and copy and paste the link in the application form here
