How we can help

REQUESTING AN APPOINTMENT

If you would like to request an appointment with the Counselling and Mental Health Support team please use the link below:

Self-registration form

Please note that there may be a wait of several weeks for an appointment at peak times. The Service prioritises finalists and students most in need of an appointment. Some students may be contacted by telephone to discuss their applications.

If you have not heard from us or feel that your situation has deteriorated, please do contact us.

Please note that these sessions are not suitable if you are in crisis or feel unsafe, in which case we would recommend that you see your doctor or go to your local NHS accident and emergency department

Please visit our website for useful resources whilst you are waiting for an appointment. Meanwhile, please be assured we are working on ways to address the issue and accept our apologies for any distress caused.

Whilst you are waiting for an appointment with a counsellor or mental health practitioner you can also access free online support 24/7 on Big White Wall. The Big White Wall community forum provides a safe space online to get things off your chest, explore your feelings, be creative and learn how to manage your mental health and wellbeing. You will also have access to a library of self-care resources. Big White Wall is totally anonymous, so no one will know you’ve chosen to use it unless you tell them. Trained counsellors are online 24/7 to keep all members safe and provide extra support. Simply go to www.bigwhitewall.com and sign up under ‘organisation’ with your university e-mail address.

While you wait you may also like to get some support from:

Please note that following your self-registration, a questionnaire will be sent to you the next working day by email invite. This may arrive in your spam or junk folder, so you may wish to check there.
