Rebecca joined the Cicely Saunders Institute in 2016 to work on a project using the CRIS (Clinical Record Interactive Search) to identify patients from the South London and Maudsley (SLAM) care register and routinely linked data from the Office of National Statistics (ONS) and the Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) to investigate end of life care in people with serious mental illness. Rebecca also works on the evaluation of the clinical effectiveness of Short-term Integrated Palliative Care Services to OPTimise CARE for people with advanced long-term neurological conditions (OPTCARE Neuro) and the Guide_Care Services project, which evaluates the associations between patient-level and area-level factors and place of death under the supervision of Dr. Gao Wei and Prof. Irene Higginson.

The research Rebecca conducted for her PhD in Epidemiology used statistical modelling approaches to identify how individuals manage their health and utilise health care services in a birth cohort study. She holds a MSc in Health Psychology and a BSc in Psychology. She has also worked in various patient-facing roles for a London hospice.
