Academic Clinical Lecturer Award
The first annual King's Integrated Academic Trainee (IAT) poster competition took place on Thursday 12 May 2011 in the Gordon Museum on Guy's Campus, judged by Professor Anne Greenough (Head, School of Medicine), Professor Simon Lovestone (Director, NIHR Biomedical Research Centre for Mental Health) and Dr Marcus Richards (MRC).
IATs from diverse specialties such as neurology, rheumatology, urology and psychiatry took part.
The prize for best poster by an Academic Clinical Lecturer was won by Dr Katherine Sleeman in the department of Palliative Care, Policy and Rehabilitation. Katherine presented work on the factors influencing death in hospital for patients with non-malignant disease. This work is part of a larger systematic review on preferences, transitions and place of death for patients with non-malignant disease being led by Dr Fliss Murtagh.
