Visit from Serbian Ministry of Health

On 13 December 2011 the Cicely Saunders Institute, King’s College London, were pleased to host a visit from the Serbian Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Welfare, who were conducting a study tour to the UK as part of an EU-funded project on the Development of Palliative Care in Serbia. Members of the steering committee included Dr Perisa Simonovic, State Secretary for Health, Dr Dubravka Saranovic, Assistant Minister of Health, and Dr Gordana Dragutinovic from the Centre for Analysis, Planning and Organisation of Health Protection at the Institute of Public Health.

The delegates were hosted by Dr Katherine Sleeman, Dr Jonathan Koffman, Dr Hristina Petkova and colleagues at the Institute, who discussed findings from the Institute programmes, particularly in the Palliative care Outcome Scale and its use to improve clinical practice and education, palliative care for older people, including the World Health Organisation Guidance, and the work on place of care and death.
