Cicely Saunders Institute showcase at EAPC World Research Congress

The Cicely Saunders Institute team had an impressive total of 47 abstracts accepted for the 9th World Research Congress of the European Association for Palliative Care (EAPC), which took place in Dublin from 9th - 11th June. This bi-annual event brought together palliative care researchers from 32 countries and provided a fantastic opportunity to showcase the Institute’s world leading research.

Fourteen of the accepted abstracts were presented orally during free communication and themed sessions at the Congress, and 26 were presented as posters exhibited at the venue. Professor Irene Higginson and Dr Barbara Gomes were also invited to speak. Congratulations to all involved in disseminating the work of the Institute.

Special congratulations to Dr Fliss Murtagh, who was invited by the Congress organisers to deliver a Plenary session entitled; ‘A Brief, Patient- and Proxy-reported Outcome Measure for the Adult Palliative Care Population: Validity and Reliability of the Integrated Palliative Outcome Scale (IPOS)’.

All accepted abstracts are published in Palliative Medicine (open access):
