Clinical Trial Research Training Fellowship
The Cicely Saunders Institute has an opportunity for a Clinical Trial Research Training Fellowship.
This role is for a talented hard-working doctor who is keen to develop their career in research. The eighteen-month fellowship would give the opportunity to be involved in recruiting to and participating in clinical trials in palliative care including the Better B project, an international multicentre randomised controlled pragmatic phase III trial with partners across Europe. Other trials involve recruitment to studies testing morphine and Mirtazapine. Trials are involved in symptom management, in particular, the management of breathlessness and fatigue.
The successful participant will need to be able to recruit and consent patients to studies, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a basic understanding of research methodology which will be developed throughout the fellowship. He/she will be able to be involved in the collection and analysis of data, quantitative and qualitative studies, literature reviews and the preparation of reports and submission of articles for publication.
The appointed Fellow will be supported to develop and apply for a PhD fellowship or equivalent if appropriate during this training fellowship.
This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 18 months.
Applications close on Sunday 16 June.
