The Department of Classics at King's was ranked 3rd in the UK for research power in the most recent Research Excellence Framework. Here you will be undertaking your PhD supervised by experts in their field.  

We offer PhD supervision in all aspects of the Classical world and its reception and are the only Classics department in London to cover the material culture of antiquity, classical archaeology and art history. We also boast specialists in Byzantine and Modern Greek, early Christian literature, medieval Latin, and the modern reception of the ancient world.  

Our partnership with the Institute of Classical Studies gives you access to the best Classics research library in the country, and to a range of exciting seminars. Further support is provided by the King's Faculty of Arts & Humanities' Centre for Hellenic Studies
