Undergraduate

Discover ancient Greece, Rome and beyond all in the heart of London. Our degrees allow you to study classics and ancient history via literature, languages, religion, ancient art and archaeology, and explore its reception in our modern world.

Our Department of Classics is one of the largest in the UK and has been home to research and teaching of the ancient world for nearly 200 years. We have unique coverage that spans across the Bronze Age through ancient Greece and Rome to the modern era. You’ll also have the opportunity to shape your own degree - our commitment to flexibility means that required modules are kept to a minimum on our classical degrees.

We have a whole host of exciting activities available to our students. Take part in our annual student-run Greek Play, the only production in the country to be performed in the original Greek, for example, or travel on a field trip to the classical lands you are studying on our Rumble Fund fieldtrip.
