Research groups and labs

The Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences promotes cutting edge collaborative research within an interdisciplinary context.

We have research groups and labs which have secured positions at the forefront of international scientific research and which make major contributions to teaching, training and research by inspiring and nurturing the next generation of scientific leaders.

Lehner Lab

The Lehnher Lab introduced Immunology nationally and globally to investigate the mechanism and prevention of dental and oral diseases.

London Centre for Nanotechnology

The London Centre for Nanotechnology is a UK-based multidisciplinary enterprise operating at the forefront of science and technology. Its purpose is to solve global problems in information processing, healthcare, energy and the environment through the application of nanoscience and nanotechnology.

Mardinoglu Lab

The Mardinoglu lab is interested in development of genome-scale metabolic models (GEMs) for human cells/tissues and employing these comprehensive models in the analysis of omics data obtained from subjects with complex diseases.

Naglik Lab

The Naglik Lab employs molecular, cellular, immunological, biophysical and structural biology to investigate host-fungal interactions.

Neves Lab

The Neves lab aims understand how the different cellular compartments of the gut communicate with each other, to then be able to direct those conversations to promote gut homeostasis.

Centre for Oral, Clinical & Translational Sciences

From toothwear to oral pathology, from facial reconstruction to oral surgery, there's one thing that all our research shares: an underlying desire to make a difference to patients and bring benefits to society. We’re particularly strong in prosthodontics and endodontics research, and our work in this field feeds into our postgraduate programmes.

Psychology in Dentistry

Psychology in Dentistry: We are a collaborative team involved in research and service provision applying psychology to the dental setting.
