The series is designed as 'safe space' for students to practice and hone their skills rather than for organisations to use as part of their formal recruitment process. Sessions can also be a useful tool to coach your own staff in recruitment techniques, and trial new ideas or elements of your recruitment process.
Events are held within our dedicated Workshop Room at Bush House, our Guy's Careers Centre or virtually and we offer organisations opportunities to conduct:
We will handle the logistics including registration of students, working with you to determine the most appropriate audience based upon your content and business area.
Employer skills workshops offer an opportunity to take an active role in developing and upskilling our students, focussing on the skills required to succeed and grow during the application, recruitment and on-boarding process.
We regularly adapt our offer to reflect those skills our employers tell us King's students are requiring further development as well as reflecting areas identified by the Institute of Student Employers (ISE). Topics include:
In autumn 2020, our series will be running virtually with slots available on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 14:00-15:00.
Skills workshops are offered to our King's Recruiter's Club members in the first instance due to the limited number of spaces, but please get in touch if your organisation has particular suggestions about what you can offer.
We hold regular mock group exercise, role play or e-tray exercises to enable students to gain an understanding of core elements of an assessment centre.
Slots are available on Tuesday afternoons from 14:00-15:00 from November to February each academic year.
Case studies, business games, guest speakers and other bespoke workshops bring the reality of your organisation or sector to life, enable students to experience first-hand what it's like to work in that field and equip them with commercial awareness, critical analytical and problem-solving skills.
We welcome interest from all sectors, and can host events virtually using our own platforms or utilising your own virtual environments. Whether you wish to reach across our student demographic, or target your event towards particular cohorts, our Events & Experiential Learning team are experts in creating content to support the impression of your organisation.
Recent events have included:
In autumn 2020, slots will be available across our autumn and spring Focused Festivals allowing employers who book a space an even greater opportunity to engage with our students aligned to particular sectors and/or themes.
Mock interviews offer an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your commitment to recruiting our students as well as trialling out new techniques and questions and identify talent.
We offer organisations across a range of industries the opportunity to host mock interviews, including time for feedback and reflection - these can be conducted in-person at our Strand Careers Centre or virtually, from your own offices.
In autumn 2020, slots will be available each Friday morning for virtual sessions aligned to our Focused Festivals.
