AI, Gender and the Future of Work: Theoretical Framework of the Gendered Impact of AI
Online

As artificial intelligence continues to transform workplaces around the world, important questions remain about its impact on gender equality. In this webinar, Dr Hyojin Seo and Professor Heejung Chung will present a new theoretical framework exploring how AI interacts with various dimensions of existing gender inequalities in the labour market and how these dynamics may shape the future of work.
The discussion will examine key dimensions of gendered labour market patterns, including occupational segregation, labour market segmentation, and organisational structures, highlighting how AI may reinforce existing disparities especially considering the gender bias inherent in AI. Following the presentation, a panel of expert respondents will provide reflections on the framework, before opening up a broader conversation on what researchers, policymakers and organisations can do to create a more gender-equal future of work in the age of AI.
