It is more important than ever for arts organisations, practitioners, researchers and teachers to share the conversation of how we champion the role of arts and culture in the education of young people.

As part of the City of London’s Cultural and Creative Strategy we are convening an event hosted by the Southbank Centre to celebrate arts and cultural education, place school teachers at the heart of arts and culture in the curriculum and highlight the opportunity the Chartered College of Teaching presents in championing the expertise of school teachers.

The next issue of the Chartered College of Teaching journal Impact has the theme ‘Arts, Culture and Creativity’ and the issue will feature during the evening.

Speakers include:

  • Professor Pat Thompson (Nottingham University)
  • Dame Alison Peacock OBE (Chartered College of Teaching)
  • Dr Anwar Tlili (King’s College, London)
  • Sam Cairns - RSA (Project Manager, Learning about Culture)
  • Dr Pamela Yeow (Birkbeck / UAL)
  • Professor Teresa Cremin (Open University)
  • Naranee Ruthra-Rajan (A New Direction)
