This session is an opportunity to hear from people who have taken different career paths involving EEG, including academia, industry, and start-ups. Four speakers will briefly talk through their own career journeys and how they moved between roles and sectors.

The rest of the session will be open for questions and discussion, which can include topics such as career decisions, transitions, what different EEG-related roles involve day to day, etc.

The session is intended to be informal and Q&A based, and is especially relevant for PhD and MSc students thinking about possible next steps, but anyone is welcome to attend.

About the speakers

  • Dr Wessel Woldman is co-funder of a start up (Neuronostics) whose mission is to enhance neurological care with EEG diagnostic markers
  • Dr Tracy Warbrick built a career in industry (she is now head of education and scientific communication at BrainProducts) after her initial years in academia
  • Dr Katja Brodmann is a senior lecturer in Neuroscience and Psychology Education and Neuroimaging at King's College London
  • Dr Toby Wise is a senior Research Fellow in Neuroimaging at King's College London
