Mobiles and Mobility: using mHealth tools to detect and intervene in older adults physical function.

Scope

This talk will discuss research on the use of wearable accelerometers for capturing meaningful metrics of physical activity and function in older adults, and promising intervention approaches for improving mobility in later life.

Biography

Dr Max Western is an Associate Professor of Behavioural Science and co-director of the Centre for Motivation and Behaviour Change at the University of Bath. His research, supported by grants from ESRC, UKRI, NIHR and Vivensa Foundation, focuses largely on active ageing and the use of technology in the assessment and intervention of physical activity and health.
