This is a landmark one-day event exploring data provenance, copyright, and licensing frameworks in the creative industries.

Cultural and economic value is produced through increasingly complex chains of creative transformation, and data today plays a key role in the articulation of these chains. But knowing where data comes from, how it has been modified and by whom, is increasingly challenging. How can we authenticate, trace, and manage creative assets in an age of generative AI?

Join us to share perspectives on data provenance, copyright, and licensing frameworks in the cultural and creative industries. The programme features speakers from the BBC, the British Council, Microsoft, Shutterstock, alongside copyright, media and policy experts from academia and the public sector. Themes include emerging standards like C2PA, legal perspectives on copyright and data management, and practical insights from creatives working to protect their work.

This event is organised with the support of the Digital Futures Institute and the Department of Digital Humanities at King's, in collaboration with TikBox.
