This panel discussion explores the far-reaching influence of the Cold War on two geopolitically significant regions: the Middle East and South America. From military interventions to economic policies and regional alliances, the panel will examine how global superpower rivalry shaped local and regional conflicts, political alignments, and social outcomes during this period. Students will gain insight into the interconnectedness of global politics and regional histories, understanding both the immediate and long-term effects of Cold War strategies.
