To mark UK Disability History Month, King's Volunteering is hosting Connecting with Charities: Disability, Health & Wellbeing.

Join us to hear from three brilliant community partners who work to support people living with disabilities, additional needs and serious health conditions and find out how you can make a difference by being a part of their work!

During this event, you will hear from Muscular Dystrophy UK, KEEN London and Caxton Youth.

  • Muscular Dystrophy UK: Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity bringing individuals, families and professionals together to beat muscle-wasting conditions. We bring together more than 60 rare and very rare progressive muscle-weakening and wasting conditions, affecting around 110,000 children and adults in the UK.
  • KEEN London: KEEN London provide free games and activity sessions with tailored support for children with additional needs and disabilities. They support over 100 children with a wide range of additional needs, including autism, cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, and global development delay.
  • Caxton Youth: Caxton is a youth club in Westminster working with young people with additional needs and disability from age 11-25. The work of Caxton matters as it allows young people to be themselves, It also works to remove barriers that young people with disability and neurodivergency face.

The event will feature short presentations from each organisation to spotlight their work and volunteering opportunities. These will be followed by a Q&A.
