Dark Matter is one of the greatest mysteries in modern physics. The universe is filled with this mysterious mass, but we don't know what it is! To celebrate International Dark Matter Day, we are holding a schools Taster Day to unpick the enigma.

Dark Matter Day

Teachers are invited to bring a group of Year 10 students to King’s for a free taster day celebrating International Dark Matter Day. The visit will include talks from researchers, an interactive workshop building cloud chambers, and a campus tour.

The taster day will run 10:00 – 14:45, in-person at King’s College London’s Strand Campus, WC2R 2LS.

More details

The event is targeted at Y10 students, and we encourage you to bring students who you think will benefit most from this event - this may not be your top physicists! We can typically accept up to 8 students per school. We hope you can bring a group of students from diverse backgrounds.

Students will need to bring a packed lunch.

If you are interested in bringing a group, please complete this form before Friday 10 October. We may begin allocating places before the deadline, so please reach out to us as soon as possible if you are interested. If we are over-subscribed, we will prioritise non-selective state schools local to King's.

If you have any questions, please email nmes-outreach@kcl.ac.uk
