This two-day course aims to provide students with an understanding of economic evaluation and its relevance to mental health policy and practice. The principal elements of an economic evolution will be introduced, including the identification, measurement and valuation of costs, measurement of outcomes and methods of cost-effectiveness analysis. A range of examples will be used throughout the course to illustrate economic evaluation in practice, drawn from the work of the course tutors and spanning the full extent of mental health needs.
