Study Day – 15 May 2026, King’s College London

Join us for a one‑day event exploring how language education can advance the place of EDI in the curriculum and support critically engaged learning. In a context shaped by social inequalities and global challenges, this study day brings together educators, researchers, and postgraduate students to discuss how language teaching can foster dialogue, empathy, and intercultural awareness.

Featuring keynote talks and workshops by:

  • Professor Vinay Swamy, author of Devenir non-binaire en français contemporain
  • Dr Deniz Ortactepe Hart, author of Social justice and the language classroom

The programme includes research presentations and hands‑on workshops. Topics range from teaching sensitive issues to addressing social justice, citizenship and social responsibility.

Organised by: Amélie Boubaker, Viviane Blanchard, Hélène Butz & Alice Dias‑Mercier.
