Abstract: In this talk, Lucy Bull will provide an overview of her methodological work that focuses on how we can make better use of routinely-collected medical data to enhance the reliability and applicability of clinical prediction models (CPMs). More specifically, Lucy will highlight the motivations behind incorporating longitudinal data into clinical prediction models, provide a detailed overview of available methodology and discuss the challenges faced when applying such methodology to real-world data, using a case-study in chronic disease.

Mini bio: Lucy Bull is in the final year of her NIHR Doctoral Fellowship, and is based at The Centre for Epidemiology Versus Arthritis, University of Manchester. Her PhD work follows on from previous work completed during her NIHR pre-doctoral Research Methods fellowship, which focused on the statistical challenges of CPM development and updating in the clinical area of rheumatoid arthritis.
