Ideas out of place: city making and the reproduction of spatial injustice in Rio de Janeiro

Gabriel Silvestre is a lecturer in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at the University of Sheffield where he coordinates the masters programme MA Cities and Global Development. He holds a PhD in Planning Studies from University College London and has previously taught at the same institution and at the University of Westminster. His research interests include the topics of planning theory in Latin America, the governance of large-scale regeneration projects and the urban impacts of hosting mega-events.
