Join us for a 30-minute seminar, to explore a user-friendly system for Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging (FLIM), ideal for live-cell imaging and advanced techniques like SHG and two-photon excitation. This presentation will be followed by an interactive Q&A and a complimentary lunch, offering a valuable opportunity to network with colleagues and peers in the imaging community. Open to all King's students and staff interested in imaging, this event is free, but registration is required.
Do your standard fluorescent images not give you the functional information your research needs? Fluorescent Lifetime Imaging Microscopy (FLIM) opens up new possibilities for functional imaging by for example revealing molecular interactions using FRET sensors, using the lifetime of NADH to study metabolic states and leveraging membrane probes to map membrane environments in cells and tissue. At the Microscopy Innovation Centre, we can help you access the unique capabilities of FLIM as well as offer deep tissue imaging, all possible through our Leica Stellaris FALCON DIVE system. This talk will explain the fundamental concepts of the techniques available and discuss how these may offer new avenues of exploration for your specific research questions.
After the lunch seminar there will be opportunity to see the system through an open demo session. If you wish to organise an in-depth trial session with MIC staff to learn more and possibly image your own samples, please reach out to us in advance at mic@kcl.ac.uk
