The School for Government at King’s College London, joint with the LSE Behavioural Lab at London School of Economics, is proud to host the 6th Annual Behavioural Transformations Workshop, taking place on 16–17 June 2026 in its historic Anatomy Museum (Strand Campus).

This year’s edition will be held in collaboration with the KCL x LSE Aldwych Behavioural Collaboration (ABC) bi-annual workshop, bringing together a vibrant international community of scholars, policymakers, and practitioners working at the intersection of behavioural science and public policy.

About the Workshop

Behavioural Transformations is an annual forum for cutting-edge research and applied work on behavioural science and its relevance to public policy, governance, and social change. Since its inception in 2021, the workshop has grown into a key global convening that showcases innovative experimental studies, policy insights, and interdisciplinary research from diverse regions and institutions, featuring early career academics mainly. The workshop aims to foster a thriving pracademic space. The Behavioural Transformations series is convened by Dr. Sanchayan Banerjee, Associate Professor in Economics and Public Policy at King’s College London. Dr. Banerjee established BT to foster interdisciplinary exchange and to elevate behavioural science’s contribution to public policy research and practice.

The Aldwych Behavioural Collaboration is a joint endeavour between the Behavioural Public Policy Lab at King’s and the LSE Behavioural Lab at LSE to foster a dialogue and synergies between members of the behavioural community across these two institutions situated in Aldwych. The ABC initiative was established by Dr. Matteo M Galizzi (LSE), Dr. Barbara Fasolo (LSE) and Dr. Sanchayan Banerjee (KCL) in a first joint workshop in November 2025.

This year’s programme will feature invited keynote sessions, contributed presentations, and dedicated time for discussion and networking across disciplines. Call for Abstracts – Now Open

We warmly invite researchers, early-career scholars, and practitioners to submit abstracts for presentation at Behavioural Transformations 2026. We welcome original submissions that explore behavioural insights, transformations in understanding behaviour in public contexts, experimental evidence, policy-relevant applications, and interdisciplinary approaches to behavioural science. Submissions can range broadly in all areas of behavioural science and public policy. If your submission covers a niche topic or area in behavioural science, you can indicate this during submission.

• Abstract Submission Deadline: 30 April 2026
• Notification of Acceptance: By 15 May 2026
• Registration opens: 1 May 2026 (early bird until 15 May)
• Registration closes: 1 June 2026

Submission Guidelines

Abstracts should be clear, focused, and structured to communicate the research question, methodology (if applicable), key findings or insights, and relevance to behavioural science or policy. Abstracts should be limited to 200 words. This workshop offers an excellent platform to share work with an engaged international audience and to build connections with leading researchers and practitioners.

Registration Fee

There is a registration fee to attend the workshop. This covers organisation costs of the workshop. The costs cover breakfast, coffee and lunch for two days. Please see below fee structure:

• Early bird Registration (until 15 May): 150 GBP
• Standard Registration (until 9 June): 175 GBP
• Workshop Dinner: 75 GBP (additional)
• KCL or LSE student rate: 30 GBP

External attendees can apply for a fee waiver. If successful, a 50 GBP fee waiver will be applied.

Keynote speakers

Zeina Afif is a Senior Social Scientist at the World Bank’s Mind, Behavior & Development Unit (eMBeD), within the Development Impact Department. She leads work on applying behavioral science to improve women’s access to jobs and finance, reduce youth unemployment, promote social cohesion, enhance health outcomes, and increase the uptake of public services. Zeina works closely with governments to embed behavioral insights into policies, programs, and institutional practices to improve how government works. In addition to her role at the World Bank, Zeina is an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University, where she teaches behavioral science in public policy, and a Senior Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics.

Avishalom Tor is Professor of Law and Director, Program on Law & Economics and Research Program on Law & Market Behavior, Notre Dame Law School. LL.B. & B.A. psychology 1996, Hebrew University of Jerusalem; LL.M. 1998, S.J.D. 2003, Harvard Law School; Dr. h.c. 2024, University of Lucerne. Secretary and Management Board member, European Association of Law and Economics (2008-14); founding Board Member, International Behavioural Public Policy Association (2022-). Professor Tor has published thirteen edited volumes and over fifty articles and book chapters and won numerous competitive grants and awards. He studies competition and cooperation, behavioral law and economics, and behavioral public policy.
