Join us for a fascinating talk at the Gordon Museum of Pathology, the UK’s largest teaching medical collection.

As part of Legacy Week at King’s, this special event offers an opportunity to hear directly from Bill Edwards, Curator of the Gordon Museum.

The Gordon Museum is home to the largest teaching medical collection in the UK. The rare and unique artefacts on display include Lister’s antiseptic spray and the original specimens which led Richard Bright, Thomas Addison and Thomas Hodgkin to describe the medical conditions that bear their names. The Museum also houses the first stethoscope in the UK and the first new "Ancient Egyptian" mummy for 3000 years.

During the session you will:

  • Discover the history and significance of the Gordon Museum
  • Learn how the collection supports medical education and research
  • Gain insight into the ongoing work to care for and expand the museum for the future

Whether you have a personal interest in medical history, are curious about the museum, or would like to learn more about how legacy gifts contribute to King’s, we hope you’ll join us for this wonderful opportunity.

Please note: The Gordon Museum is not open to members of the general public. All forms of photography, filming and social media are prohibited whilst in the Gordon Museum.

Directions and meeting points will be shared ahead of the event.
