We are delighted to invite you to a seminar led by Ian Kessler, Professor of Public Policy and Management at King’s College London and HSCWRU Deputy Director.

There has been considerable interest amongst policymakers and practitioners in the introduction of new roles in health and social care as the route to more efficient and effective service delivery. However, the establishment of such roles is far from straightforward. This seminar presents findings from research on attempts by acute and community NHS trusts to introduce new care roles. In particular, it will examine why and how a number of new assistant practitioner roles have been introduced and consider the challenges faced in developing and embedding them.
