Join a workplace film screening and discussion of the People’s Emergency Briefing.
Please note this is an internal event for King's and SLaM staff and students only.
It is hosted by the Sustainability Leads at South London and Maudsley and King's College London, with guest speaker Professor Hugh Montgomery OBE - the foremost medical climate activist in the UK who chairs the UK Health Alliance on Climate Change and appears in the film.
The film, presented by Chris Packham, brings together leading UK experts to explain, as clearly as possible, what the latest science says about the climate and nature crisis, how it is already affecting our lives, and what can still be done.
Rather than headlines or politics, the film offers a concise, evidence-based overview from experts across areas including climate, food, health, economics, national security and extreme weather.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with the film's expert on the topic of health - Professor Hugh Montgomery OBE. He will be joined by Dan Harwood, the Clinical Sustainability Lead at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust - and Sara Kassam, Director of Sustainability at King's College London.
The discussion will be a chance for staff and students to ask questions and engage with the impact of climate on health - including mental health. Find out what actions your organisations are taking, and how you can get involved in your workplace.
Speakers:
- Professor Hugh Montgomery OBE, Professor of Intensive Care Medicine, University College London and Co-Chair, Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change
