Person-centred care for people with mental health and physical health needs

Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), Denmark Hill Campus, London

11JunGroup of people sat in a circle, with their lower bodies visible, suggesting a meeting or discussion.

This workshop will discuss how we can deliver more person-centred care for people with co-existing mental health and physical health needs.

Professionals from mental health services, physical healthcare and social care, alongside lived experience partners, are invited to this two-hour workshop.

The event will bring together practitioners, lived experience partners, and researchers to share perspectives and help shape a future research and innovation agenda that supports person-centred, responsive care.

The workshop will focus on:

1. Synthesising needs
Examining current pressures on services supporting people who present with co-existing mental health needs and physical health conditions, and identifying knowledge gaps in achieving person-centred, responsive care across health and social care sectors.

2. Strategic alignment
Exploring how future research can align with the NHS 10 Year Health Plan mission, ensuring resulting priorities support care delivery that is genuinely person-centred and responsive to population needs.

3. Sustainability and impact
Identifying collaborative approaches to research and innovation that can be sustainably implemented to address complex and emerging public health challenges.

The event will include an informal networking lunch, brief presentations, structured group discussions to establish shared research priorities and networking opportunities to support the development of new partnerships.

Please note that photographs may be taken during the event for promotional and reporting purposes. If you would prefer not to appear in any photographs, please let a member of the team know on the day and we will ensure your wishes are respected.
