A generation of young people is entering the world of work at a moment of profound change. AI is transforming the jobs market just as the number of young people not in education, employment or training remains stubbornly high. Could AI become a powerful engine of opportunity – or risk making an already serious problem worse?
This webinar will confront what the AI revolution really means for young people. How is it changing the jobs available to them, and which opportunities will grow, change or disappear? Could AI make it harder for some young people to enter and progress in work? Who will benefit most from the transformation – and who risks being locked out altogether?
We will explore what needs to happen now to ensure AI opens doors rather than closes them, and that the first AI generation is defined by greater opportunity, not greater exclusion.
The discussion will be chaired by the Rt Hon Michelle Donelan, former Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology, and will feature contributions from:
- Tim Flagg, CEO, UKAI
- Francesca Fraser, Head of Policy and Public Affairs, Multiverse
- Jack Kennedy, Senior Economist, Indeed
- Professor Kim Piper, Academic Director for Student Success, Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences
- Rushab Shah, Co-Founder and CEO, OneHive
