Exclusion has been one of the dominating themes of the last years and it comes in many shapes and forms: Brexit, populism, and the securitisation of borders, sexism and racism, islamophobia and anti-semitism are only among the most evident examples of different types of exclusion that characterise today’s realities.

This one-day conference at King's College London delves into the causes and effects of exclusions by bringing together early-career researchers and experts from a variety of disciplines.

Guest speakers include Dr Lisa Tilley (Birkbeck), Dr Sara Salem (LSE), and Dr Jim Wolfreys (King’s College London).

This conference is specifically targeted at young researchers and PhD candidates, and open to both theoretical and empirical approaches, as well as to different methodologies and disciplines.

There is no registration fee. We are offering lunch and there will be a drinks reception after the event. We might be able to award need-based travel grants, depending on budget availability. Please let us know in a short statement if you would like to be considered.
