The coronavirus crisis has been a watershed moment for many things, but what about for how we see inequality?

Have disparities in who’s contracted the virus, who’s lost their jobs in the economic fallout, and which areas have been worse hit prompted a rethink on the need to make Britain a fairer place?

And what kinds of inequalities are Britons most concerned about right now? If the public think that inequalities are large and growing, and crucially, that they are unfair, this can undermine faith in political and economic systems as a whole.

Join the Policy Institute and UK in a Changing Europe to discuss findings from a major new research study into what the public think about inequality in the context of Covid-19.

Panel:

  • Paul Johnson, Director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies
  • Paula Surridge, Deputy Director of the UK in a Changing Europe
  • Professor Bobby Duffy, Director of the Policy Institute at King's College London
  • Sunder Katwala, Director, British Future
