Abstract

In the UK large and increasing numbers of older people live within rural and remote communities. Services are predominantly located in urban settings. This seminar will focus on the findings of recent research funded by NIHR and Marie Curie to explore the issues faced by older people and family carers within rural and remote areas across the UK as they approach the end of life.

About the Speaker

Following training at University of Leicester hospitals, Professor Mari Lloyd-Williams joined University of Liverpool as Senior Lecturer. She was promoted to personal chair within the Faculty of Medicine and has worked as a consultant at Liverpool Marie Curie Hospice. In 2022, she was appointed to a foundation Chair in Palliative and Supportive Care at Liverpool John Moores University.
