Service

Giving back to society is at the heart of everything we do. And that commitment has never been more important, as we support each other through the COVID-19 pandemic and the para-COVID world. As part of our diverse alumni communities, we want to help empower you to make a difference to the people around you, wherever you are in the world.

For nearly two hundred years, King’s has been driven by the ethos of acting in service to society. What this looks like is different for everyone in our communities. From staff volunteering in their local area to academics and practitioners making life-saving breakthroughs and transformational social impact, to graduates mentoring our current students.

King's was founded in 1829 to serve society. Our alumni, students and staff have been dedicated to making the world a better place ever since. In this short video, find out what service means to King’s:

In 2021, we were ranked 11th in the world and 2nd in the UK in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings in recognition of our social and environmental impact.

Below are some of the ways you can get involved in service through King’s

Become a volunteer

Each year in March, King’s Global Day of Service brings alumni, students and staff together to volunteer and make an impact in their local, national and international communities. Find inspiration, give back and let us know how you’ve given the gift of time.
