Governance Zone is managed by staff in Governance Services. Document owners are advised to read the below processes for document submission and review. If you have any queries, please do contact us.
Criteria for document submission
New and updated documents should be submitted via email. Please ensure that the following criteria is met:
Documents must be relevant to the entire university. Policies or procedures relating to specific departments should be displayed on departmental web pages or the intranet.
Documents must be suitable for publication on an external website. In the interests of accountability and transparency, all documents on Governance Zone are publically available. If you require any advice on information disclosure, please contact us.
Documents should be of sufficient importance. Governance Zone is intended to reflect high level decision making within the university. To query whether material is suitable for inclusion, please contact us.
All documents must reflect King's corporate identity and brand. Either use our standard template or resources provided by Brand Communcations. This is to ensure consistency in the way that King's is represented to external audiences. As a minimum, all content should include the King's logo and use King's fonts.
All documents must be submitted in PDF format.
You will also be required to supply the name of the committee or department which approved the document, the date of approval and date of next review. This is important information required to manage the lifecycle and ownership of your document.
Please note that Governance Services reserve the right to return documents or delay publishing if these criteria are not met.

Please note that document owners are responsible for regular review and updating of content. Document review dates are monitored by Governance Services and you will be contacted six months ahead of document expiry.
The document owner is considered to be the Department or Directorate named as the owner in the document profile. To advise of changes in document ownership, please email us.
If no response is received from the document owner by the expiry date, the document will be removed from Governance Zone.
This is to maintain the value and benefit of Governance Zone as a central hub for corporate documentation and ensure that only current information is made publically available.
