The theme of the ninth annual alumni lecture was 'Bad Kingship?: Royal Reputations in Medieval Britain and Europe'. Professor Jinty Nelson introduced the event, which also featured lectures from Dr Serena Ferente and Professor David Carpenter.
The theme of the eighth annual alumni lecture was 'What is global or world history? And what should its relationship be to the forms of national, regional, and continental history around which the discipline was once organised? Professor Richard Drayton introduced the event, which featured lectures from Dr Bronwen Everill, Dr Reza Zia-Ebrahimi, Dr Jennifer Altehenger and Professor Francisco Bethencourt.
The theme of the seventh annual alumni lecture was 'Changing Masculinities in Twentieth Century Britain' and featured lectures by Professor David Edgerton (‘The Aviator, the Press Baron and the Dancer: Politics, Masculinity and the Birth of the Royal Air Force’) and Dr Lucy Delap (‘Unbecoming Men: The "New Man" of the Late Twentieth Century’).
Professor Dame Janet Nelson gave a lecture entitled The Story of History at King’s College London. The event, which was attended by over 50 alumni, was introduced by the Head of Department Dr Adam Sutcliffe, who gave a round-up of the department's news.
