500 MHz NMR Spectrometer

The workhorse of the structural biology laboratory

500135X180The 500 MHz NMR spectrometer is composed of a 11.7T superconducting magnet, a triple resonance (1H/13C/15N) cryoprobe with z-gradients and a Bruker Avance console.

This is a robust instrument with excellent sensitivity and sufficient resolution for many studies of proteins. The automated sample changer for up to 60 samples permits the screening of sample conditions, drug-protein interactions etc.

The instrument is configured for the study of biological macromolecules, especially isotopically-labelled protein samples. The cryoprobe provides high sensitivity and allows a full range of multi-dimensional experiments to be performed, aimed at characterising the structure, dynamics and interactions of proteins of interest.
