DISCOUNTED CHARGES FOR PhD STUDENTS
A lower charge rate may be available to KCL PhD students. This is limited to those with no specific MS funding in their grants; a confirmation from the supervisor is required.
A discounted rate is only applicable to such KCL PhD students when the instrument is not booked by a user paying the full charge.
This time cannot be guaranteed and is only offered at short notice (same day) and at discretion of Facility Manager.

Free Time on Mass Spectrometry Facility Equipment
The Mass Spectrometry Steering Committee is able to award up to 2 days of free MS time to King’s College academics. This free time should be exclusively used for preliminary work needed to assess the suitability of mass spectrometry for a research project, directly leading to a grant application. The free MS time is approved on an understanding that a successful grant applicant will use MS Facility for his/her mass spectrometry part of the project.
