Dr Claire Wilson

Claire-WilsonClaire is an MRC Clinical Research Training Fellow in the Section of Women's Mental Health. Her research interests are in maternal and infant mental health and the physical and mental health interface during pregnancy, with a specific interest in nutrition.

Claire studied medicine at the University of Glasgow, where she also obtained an intercalated BSc in Psychological Medicine with First Class Honours. After finishing her foundation years on the Academic Foundation Programme and her first year of psychiatry training in Glasgow, she moved to South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust to complete the remainder of her core psychiatry training and take up an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship, based in the Section of Women’s Mental Health at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London.

Having obtained membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and completed her core psychiatry training, Claire is now working on her PhD, funded by the MRC (Medical Research Council). Claire's work focusses on exploring the relationship between gestational diabetes and maternal and infant mental health. Claire is supervised by Professor Louise Howard.
