Machine Learning in Mental Health Lab

We are a multi-disciplinary group of researchers based at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (King's College London). We develop and apply state-of-the-art machine learning methods to investigate a range of mental health disorders, with a particular focus on psychosis. A core aim of our research is to develop and validate clinical tools that could be used to inform diagnosis and treatment of individual patients.

NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre

The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) is a partnership between South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, the UK’s largest mental health trust, and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King's College London, Europe’s leading academic centre for mental health research.  We are also part of King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre.

Integrating Mental & Physical healthcare: Research, Training & Services

Integrating Mental & Physical healthcare: Research, Training & Services (IMPARTS) is an initiative funded by King’s Health Partners to integrate mental and physical healthcare in research, training and clinical services at Guy’s, St Thomas’s and King’s College Hospitals, as well as South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

Mental Health Nursing

The Mental Health Nursing research group is developing a programme of high-quality research with the aim of improving the delivery and experience of mental healthcare and mental health nursing across a range of service settings.

King's Centre for Military Health Research

KCMHR is the leading civilian UK centre of excellence for military health research and independent of the UK Ministry of Defence, our work has help shape government policy towards military personnel with our research published in high impact journals such as the British Medical Journal and The Lancet.

Modinos Lab

We use state-of-the-art brain imaging techniques in humans and animal models to investigate the neural mechanisms involved in emotions, and their role in the development of psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia.

Mood & Development Lab

Human mood is fascinating yet still poorly understood. What makes young people experience several days of euphoria with racing thoughts or go through months of low mood and lose interest in life’s pleasures? What brain mechanisms underlie the intense anger of some young people and why are irritable youth at higher risk for depression?
