About us

Performance in initiating and delivering clinical research

SLaM holds a large portfolio of National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) contracts, including our NIHR Biomedical Research Centre for Mental Health  and NIHR Biomedical Research Unit for Dementia, as well as NIHR grants (including Programmes, HTA and Research for Patient Benefit).

NHS providers holding NIHR contracts are required to report to the NIHR - on a quarterly basis - information on initiating and delivering clinical research.

This includes our performance in meeting the 70-day benchmark to recruit first patients into trials, and time and target data for commercial trials.
