Visiting/Honorary schemes

Visiting researchers (research experience)

Visiting researcher (research experience) placements may be considered for post- or pre-doctoral researchers/research workers not registered as students and not employed by an higher education institution (HEI) or equivalent organisation who wish to obtain a short period of experience in a research environment with access to expert advice and research facilities.

Further details

  • The maximum duration of an appointment is 12 weeks.
  • Visiting researchers are not eligible for any payment.
  • Fees are not applicable to these appointments.

The process

Potential visitors seeking research experience must first identify a sponsor who must be an academic member of staff employed by King's College London in a relevant department at the IoPPN. Potential visitors should make contact with this academic member of staff to verify that they are willing to act as a sponsor. The sponsor will then seek approval from the Faculty and, if approval is granted, will be able to provide details on arrangements for the appointment.
