Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey

The Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey

PTES is the only national survey to gather taught postgraduate students’ opinions about their experience at university and college.  It is run by the Higher Education Academy.  The survey is an online questionnaire and consists of a number of multiple choice questions.  All data collected in the survey is held anonymously and securely. This is an inclusive survey and we are interested in all student feedback, regardless of mode of study (full-time, part-time, distance learners or campus-based learners) or fee status (Home/EU or overseas). We are particularly interested in feedback from minority groups. The survey results are not made public but are used to identify where improvements can be made.

Students will receive an email on 17th March inviting then to complete the survey (as a unique URL). It will be sent from ‘BOS’ with the subject line [PTES 2017 survey King’s].

What happens to the results?

Survey results will be disseminated to all areas of the College during the summer. We take these results seriously. Positive feedback about your experience will help future cohorts enrolling onto your programme of study and will provide useful material for internal comparative analysis across the discipline and programmes. Collective responses about the need for improvement will also help the College and the IoPPN to work strategically and practically to make things better. For further information about what the IoPPN has done in action to previous surveys, please click here for the 'You Said, We Did' page.

Students can contact studentsurveys@kcl.ac.uk with any queries.
