Welcome from Dean of Education Patrick Leman
Welcome to the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King’s College London. As Dean of Education I lead our education agenda, developing an academic vision for undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research programmes. This vision blends world class teaching with internationally leading, society-changing research.
King's College London is one of the world’s top universities (2014-15 QS World University Rankings), located in the heart of one of the world’s great cities. Being part of the larger King’s community, with all that London has to offer, ensures superb opportunities for our students, in learning, research and personal and professional development. At King’s you’ll be studying in a university that is deeply committed to learning, equality and delivering a first class student experience. And a King’s and IoPPN qualification is recognised, internationally, as a mark of excellence; that is a key reason why our graduates progress to such successful careers.
IoPPN is a leading provider of education at all levels, building upon its unrivalled reputation in mental health and related sciences. Alongside our exceptional reputation for teaching and research, there are many other reasons to study with us. Our students are key participants among a community of scholars who are the world leaders in their field (REF2014; internationally ranked 2nd after Harvard University in U.S., News & World Report, Psychology and Psychiatry, 2015). In addition, students have unparalleled opportunities in clinical training, placements and research as a consequence of the Institute’s long relationship with, and close proximity to, the Maudsley Hospital. IoPPN is the largest academic community in Europe devoted to the study and prevention of mental health problems.
We offer a range of programmes, from undergraduate (BSc Psychology) to many specialist postgraduate (MSc) and professional doctorate programmes. If you are interested in studying psychiatry, psychology or neuroscience, or pursuing a career in a related area, I have no doubt that you will find the course you are looking for here, at IoPPN.
Find information about courses, training and student support, or consider attending one of our open days, to see for yourself why we are the natural choice for study in psychiatry, psychology and neuroscience.
