Services & software

When you're a student or a member of staff at King's, you can enjoy access to various free software, with many available for download on your personal devices. 

We offer free Office 365, Skype for Business, and your own 1TB of online storage, as well as specialist statistical and analytics software and applications. You will be able to acquire knowledge and master some of the most in-demand technology in todays' market. King's dedicated IT support team, also known as King's Service Desk are there to support you with your IT-related queries. You can call or email them 24/7/365 days a year. 

You can also get instant help from one of our TechBars available on campuses along with Free Wi-fichargeboxes and computer loans - these are just a few services you will enjoy at King's. 

Digital education is enabled through KEATS and other technologies and supported by the Centre for Technology Enhanced Learning along with faculty-based teams.

Having difficulties logging into your email, connecting via King's RemoteApp, connecting to Wi-Fi or navigating through a tricky application? Get in touch with the King's Service Desk - our IT-support team are available 24/7 all year round.

Free Office 365

Every student and member of staff at King's gets a free Office 365 licence with an option to download applications on up to five personal devices.

Enjoy industry-standard business applications such as Excel, PowerPoint and Skype for Business. You will also get a 1TB of secure online storage as well as ongoing support from both Microsoft and King's IT.



Connect to Wi-Fi  

There're three networks available at King's -   Eduroam. , the Cloud and GovRoam

The Cloud

Anyone, including King's visitors, can connect to The Cloud by simply choosing this network on their mobile device. No password or registration is required.  


King's current students and staff can also connect to the Eduroam - a network that is extensively used by many UK and overseas universities. All you need to login is you K number (e.g. and your usual King's password. Connect to Eduroam here

Note: if you are visiting other sites with Eduroam you must disconnect your current Eduroam profile then reconnect using the local Eduroam network and accept their certificate. 


GovRoam enables visitors to King's who normally access GovRoam in their home organisations (such as other public sector institutions) to connect automatically during their time here. Find out more. 

TechBars: your on-campus tech support  

If you need help whilst on campus, you can pop into one of the TechBars and get help with Wi-Fi connection, email setup, resetting your password, software installation and more. Our helpful staff can also provide hardware advice if you need it. 


Opening hours are available to current students and staff on King's intranet.

Digital education 

All courses at King’s are supported by KEATS, our Moodle-based virtual learning environment. KEATS supports teaching and learning by providing materials electronically and enabling engagement in interactive features, such as assessments, discussions and assignments. Other digital education tools are also available at King’s such as Echo360, our lecture capture tool and Mahara. an e-Portfolio which enables you to present your work online. Please contact the Centre for Technology Enhanced Learning for more information. 


Get up to 30 minutes of free charging time for your personal devices -  including phones and tablets. You can locate the nearest Chargebox via King's Mobile app or the intranet, and you don't have to stay with your device.  

Simply turn off any alarms, lock your device, and off you go. Chargeboxes are available at our Strand, Waterloo, Guy's and Denmark Hill campuses.
