About the role

As Senior E-Learning Visual Designer, you will manage our team of E-Learning Visual Designers, currently two E-Learning Visual Designers and one E-Learning Visual Design Assistant, who create a range of visual media including graphics, illustrations and animation for our online distance learning portfolio 

A critical part of the Creative Media Team and reporting to the Creative Media Manager, you will contribute to a creative, collaborative and adaptable team of visual design and media specialists. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of graphic design and animation across the team, while also taking on project work, from initial concept and design to final delivery.

You will actively collaborate with King’s Digital production teams, including Learning Design, Content Development, Quality Assurance and UX/Development, etc, to build exceptional e-learning for our global audience of students.

The role holder will be knowledgeable and passionate about graphic design and illustration, demonstrate a thorough awareness of creative processes, as well as be able to lead in the development of new formats and workflows

This is a full time  (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience

Essential criteria

1.      A Master’s qualification (or equivalent/higher qualification) or significant experience

2.      Evidence of professional development (formal and informal) and the ability to identify future development needs

3.      Line management experience or a strong desire/potential to become a line manager

4.      Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

5.      Experience of creating digital learning content and understanding of the key principles and standards of content and visual design, including usability, accessibility, branding and copyright.

6.      Highly organised approach to managing workload, with the ability to work calmly and systematically in a busy environment; prioritising work as required in order to meet agreed deadlines

7.      Excellent visual design skills and the ability to develop engaging digital learning content for online courses

8.      Proven commitment to diversity and inclusion

Desirable criteria

1.      Leading on enhancement projects

2.      Understanding of effective practice in digital pedagogy

3.      Experience of working with project management methodology and Agile teams
